A network license is recommended when employees want to use GeODin from different computers. The GeODin license can be used with a local, central or partially centralized GeODin installation. In other words GeODin does not have to be installed in the same location or server where the license file is stored or where the network license key is plugged in.
The software license must be available in a shared folder within the network for all users who wish to work with GeODin. All users must also have read and write access to this file. The license file records how many and which users are currently working with GeODin and how many licenses are still available.
A software license is bound to a specific UNC path where the license file is activated. Once the license has been activated in a certain folder the license file must not be moved. Likewise, the resolution of the UNC path must always be the same, otherwise the license file becomes invalid.
